Afghanistan, Syria, Bahrain or used
by american security forces. They routinely detain children without cause.
They giving children ill-treatment that may rise to the level of torture.
How can the U.S and the
rest of our society accept this situation?
” Rounding up kids, throwing them in jail, beating them up,
threatening them,” this is no way for a country to
treat children. Is anything only politics and power?
Human Rights Watch recently
informed after obtaining info from victims, family members and local activists
that suggests that Bahraini authorities often holding children for long period
of detention and subject them to similar forms of mistreatrment as adult
detainees, including beatings and threats of torture. The Convention on the
Rights of Children requires governments to protect children from ill-treatment
and torture, to give all children – those under 18- special protections and to
seperate them from adults in detention. HRW found back in 2011 that the U.S
”backed dictatorship in Bahrain” and has been egaged in ”systematic” torture
since the start of arab Spring protest several years ago.
Bahrain has long engaged in torture
as a U.S ally who used them as partner for many years. We remember the
different type of ordered torture by CIA and U.S, “electro-shock devices,
suspension in painful positions, and beatings, rape or murder.” This widespread systematic torture,
indicated by a confidential State Department Cable that the Obama
adminsitration was fully aware of the abuse but continued of unconditiona U.S
support.
Politics
and power, the Obama administration is behind the crackdown in Bahrain since
over three years now. The U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet is stationed in the Persian
Gulf island, giving Washington control over the flow of oil through the Persian
Gulf, through which over 40 percent of the world’s seaborne oil transits. We
certainly see that the U.S make the rules, and nothing can stand in the way of
their hunger for control and pow
